Facing the west direction, Bara Darwaza (“The Big Gate”) is the main entrance to the Purana Qila. It is flanked by two massive semi-circular bastion towers, decorated with white and colored-marble inlays and blue tiles. It has ornate overhanging balconies (jharokhas) and is topped by pillared pavilions (chhatris).
