Sher Mandal, named after its last builder, Sher Shah, was the private library and tragically, the death spot of Humayun. It is a double-storeyed octagonal tower located inside Purana Qila and is made of red sandstone with steep stairs leading up to the roof. Humayun’s father, Babur, had commenced building it.
